What are Imagination Pictures?
Imagination Pictures are made up of many hand drawn pictures which are placed in such a way that they make up hundreds of other images. These images and pictures can be found by looking at the artwork from every angle. After you have spent time searching stand back from the picture (say about 4-6ft) and by using your imagination try grouping 3 or more pictures together: following the outlines to make larger images – hence the name. You’ll be amazed how, for example, several people looking at the same group of small pictures can imagine a different bigger image! Have fun finding as many small pictures as you can. Don't forget this is about YOUR imagination and very soon your Mind will be able to create huge images almost as big as the Imagination Picture itself.
- Increase memory skills
- Stimulate the mind
- Find your own pictures by using your imagination
How did it start?
Ten years ago I was doodling around a friend’s house and came up with the idea for the Imagination Pictures. I realised that by adding many pictures together my imagination started to see larger images of many different animals, faces etc. After several years, developing my style, I went into partnership with a friend of mine and produced a board game called zoom-in, which was sold mainly in Europe; it was this board game I sent to Professor Simon Baron Cohen of Cambridge University Autism Research Centre. The professor informed me the pictures can help in certain levels of Autism and I promised him that I would help in the future to produce a product for the Research Autism charity. Eventually my idea is to produce a specific picture that the charity can use to make money (the charity will be given the copyright for this picture) and license this picture out on many products. I am currently looking at ideas. I have found that The Imagination Picture is a great educational tool for both children and adults, exercising the mind and memory with games like search and find and spot the difference. The Pictures look great coloured in and, because everyone has a different imagination, the results are totally unique. The possibilities for the Imagination Pictures are endless. One personal experience: children can get bored very quickly when waiting for a meal; the Picture can provide fun.
